Campus Happenings

Women in STEM

Thomas Nelson hosted two Women in STEM Programs Discovery events in February 2016 on the Hampton campus. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about the STEM job programs and transfer opportunities Thomas Nelson affords.

Students, faculty, staff and community members auditioned for Thomas Nelson Performing Arts’ production of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.”

Directed by Victoria Sanders and Sandra Calderon- Doherty, the show ran in April 2016, at the Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium in Templin Hall.

Thomas Nelson Community College representatives from Workforce Development and the Science, Engineering and Technology division welcomed nearly 3,000 high school students from around the Peninsula for the 2016 Youth Career Expo. Workforce Development’s Manufacturing and Trades displayed 3-D printers and a mini CNC machine for expo guests. Workforce Development staff also served as mock interviewers for students, evaluating resumes and providing evaluations to students.
