Thomas Nelson is honored to serve active, veteran and dependent military classifications, a population that represents 27.3 percent of our students. Recent efforts to increase veteran support include funding two new positions in the Veteran Services Office and Veteran Services Center, new military transition services through the College Career Center, credit classes on local military bases, new VA (Veterans A airs) approval for high-demand short-term workforce development certificates, and the certifying of full-time Thomas Nelson staff at Joint Base Langley-Eustis to provide VA education benefits on-site.
“I have only had good experiences while attending the school,” said Kristi Lanstra, a retired Navy hospital corpsman chief petty officer, who is studying to become a nurse. “ e VA office on campus has always been extremely helpful whenever I have a question as well as ensuring my paperwork is certified in a timely fashion.”
